February Meeting | Tröegs Beer Social

It is absolutely freezing cold out, I mean, I really can’t get over it and yet I have to, because I’ve chosen to live in upstate NY, which recently entered an ice age if you hadn’t heard. I exaggerate slightly, but you get the gist. So, instead of complaining we’ve got to create diversions and spending an evening at a beer social is certainly a diversion.

We were really pleased to be invited to Tap & Mallet this past week for their Tröegs Beer Social. What a way to brighten a Wednesday night. We had an excellent turn out and a few new beer gal faces. Our host, Amy Ellsworth, is an established gal in the local beer industry. What began as a hobby blog grew into career when she began a blog, called the Craft Beer Girl, and ultimately she pursued a position as the regional rep for Tröegs Brewing Company. It’s always awesome to see a rad gal repping the females in a mostly male industry. Below are the beers we tasted with Amy. They’re all worth trying. Cheers!

  • Dream Weaver Hefeweizen
  • Scratch 170 – Helles Lager
  • Scratch 167 – ESB
  • Perpetual IPA
  • Nugget Nectar – cask and keg versions
  • Java Head Stout – oatmeal stout aged in Heaven Hill bourbon barrels for 1 year
